Vehicle History & Provance by owner:
VIN: BS27U0B104357
Original Color: Lemon Twist Yellow
Current/Restored Color: Lemon Twist Yellow
I purchased this 1970 Plymouth Cuda Convertible in 1987 from the second owner, who lived locally in Canton, Michigan. The seller was a Chrysler engineer and had the car painted Black from its original color of Lemon Twist Yellow. (have photos of it in Black when first purchased).
At the time of my purchase, the seller explained that the original 440 short block had been damaged and subsequently scrapped. He stated that the remainder of the drive train was original to the car. (Car has correct date coded 440 replacement block).
The seller also provided me a photo of the Cuda before it was painted Black. Based on the appearance of the photo and its condition, I believe it was taken in the late 1970’s.
When the car was later disassembled for restoration, the original Lemon Twist Yellow finish was readily confirmed beneath the Black repaint. Unfortunately the original fender tag was not present when I purchased the car, and the seller did not know where it was. During the disassembly and restoration process, we were unable to locate the broadcast sheet.
This Cuda underwent a complete nut and bolt restoration performed by Hodge Restoration of South Carolina, with Koffel’s Place in Commerce Michigan completely rebuilding the 440 engine. Both restoration shops specialize in MOPAR.
As part of the restoration, the Cuda was reassembled with the same options and configuration it had when I purchased it in 1985. The exceptions were returning the car to its original Lemon Twist Yellow color and installing a date code correct 440 block in place of the replacement block that had been in the car when I purchased it.
The restoration documentation includes photographs showing the whole restoration process, as well as the dyno video documenting the rebuilt 440 engine.
I have retained the history information provided by the previous owner, the period correct photos of the car and the restoration documentation as part of the vehicle’s history.
As you will see in the photos, we do have dated past registrations and bill of sale from second owner in 1987.
The only reason this collector is selling this Cuda is because he doesn’t drive it anymore and says it is time for another collector to enjoy it.
This beautiful 1970 Cuda is just as nice as looks in the photos and has no issues whatsoever. You can come see for yourself at our shop in Georgia.
