SOLD! Ultra rare!
In order to qualify for NHRA Super Stock competetion, Fred Gibb a La Harpe Il. Chevrolet dealer, ordered 50 Nova’s under Central Office Production Order 9738 to compete with other manufacturers. These Nova’s were optioned with a big block, solid lifter 396/375 hp engine, special M40 automatic transmission and 12 bolt positraction rear end with 4.10 gears. They also had special interiors with bucket seats, a console and were all radio delete.
Four colors were available. Tripoli Turquois, Matador Red, Fathom Blue and Grecian Green. This is the # 21 Nova and is 1 of 10 originally painted Grecian Green. There are approximately 16 of these rare Nova’s known to exsist, and only 3 in this color.
#21 is an ex-race car spending it’s life in Kansas City, Mo and in Iowa where it was raced by the original owner from Day 2… but, was never tubbed. The original 396 and M40 trans are no longer in the car (like most vintage race cars) but it has the correct BV coded rear end. It does have a fresh rebuilt, date correct 396/375hp engine and TH400 transmission and it runs GREAT!
This historic car has recently been rotisserie restored by a well known SuperCar restorer and has the correct console, steering wheel, rare 14X6 XF coded wheels, NOS dog dish hubcaps, Red Line tires, Gardner exhaust and more. All body lines fit perfect.
